Busy Weekend!

This weekend was full of fun activities! Tessa and I went with Heather and Isabella to the open house of the Polka Dot Market in Hendersonville and afterwards went to the outdoor water fountain at the Streets of Hendersonville! Tessa loved the fountains but Isabella was pretty scared. We ate lunch there and had a great morning!

After Tessa's nap we went to my in-laws home to eat dinner and visit. Tessa decided she wanted to water all of Grammy's flowers and help her daddy wash the vehicle. We also walked the golf course and Tessa had fun drinking the water from the paper cups they had out along the course! It was a beautiful afternoon!

We did not photograph Popa because he is very sick right now and he cannot get of of the house or move around very easily. He needs a liver transplant and is waiting his turn on the list. Please keep him in your prayers. Pray specifically that God will find him a matching liver quickly and that all of us will have the strength and endurance for the long road ahead. Also, that Harry (Harrison's namesake) will be able to get through this difficult time physically and emotionally. His name is Harry Tomlin and Tessa adores her Popa! We want him around as long as possible!
Thanks!

On Sunday we went to church and had our Patriotic service for the armed forces. It was great! Then we came home and ate and took naps. Later that night we went to my mom's church, Hillview Baptist. for the Eric Jackson benefit concert starring Innerfire. It was such a special service and there were so many people that gave donations for this family. It was a fun time all together!

Tessa Swimming

We have been working with Tessa for months on how to swim by herself in her flotation swimsuit. She is doing so well and we are so proud of her! She can swim the whole length of the pool and back without any help or getting scared and she even floats by herself now! Well, she gets scared if a bug is in the water and then she starts screaming. She has all of these little phobias that she is afraid of these days. For instance, bugs, a loose hair, dirt on her feet or hands, scary toys (monsters, masks, etc.), moving cars, and so on. I hope she grows out of this soon! Anyway, here she is swimming with her GiGi in the pool. This is one of her favorite things to do!

Lunch W/Grandpa Terry

Today we ate lunch with Terry at our routine Mexican restaurant. Of course the girls had fun and were all over the place. We get to see "Grandpa Terry" every other week and we all love this special time! Here are a few pictures from today.

Maggie Moo Designs

My sister had this shirt made for Tessa's 1st birthday gift (March 9th). Her friend, Alison Harris, makes awesome children's clothing and her blog name is Maggie Moo Designs. Alison also made some custom letter shirts for my friend Lana in Tallahassee Florida. You should check out her website to see her things. She sells some of her items on Etsy.com. I have added her blog to my friend's list.

Zoo Trip #2

Yesterday we went to the zoo again. We had so much fun! Heather & Bella were there along with our friend Shannon and her son Brock. Our step-mom Kathy and our nephews Evan & Logan also came. It was a fun filled day! Tessa and Evan have become best buddies lately. Tessa tried to hold his hand while we were walking and he brushed her off. I think he got embarrassed but it was still sweet. All of the kids did really well until it became nap time and we needed to leave. It ended up being a pretty hot day. By the time we got home I needed a rest too! Here are some pictures from our day.

Concrete Memories

This morning my dad was having concrete poured for his new garage and he wanted the girls to come and put their hand prints in it while it was wet. Tessa was not sure about it at first but once Pa showed her it was o.k. and did it too then she was fine! She wanted to do it over and over again after she was done.

Before we left to go to Pa & Anna's house--Tessa is showing off her new shoes that she loves!

Fun Filled Busy Weekend!

This weekend was so busy for us! Greg and I were out of town on the lake with some friends from Greg's work. We rented a pontoon boat and had fun doing water sports all day on Saturday (I watched everyone of course). We were there with three other couples and it was nice to have adult conversation! However, most of our topics of conversation was our children! Mom kept Tessa for us while we were gone. Thanks so much Mom! Tessa didn't seem to skip a beat because she had so much fun with you! On Sunday, as we were getting ready for church, we received a call that someone wanted to view our house. This is great of course but we had not been home and we were getting ready for church. Instead, we stayed home to spend some downtime with Tessa and clean up before our busy day of visiting for Father's Day began. We had many visits to make and after a long day we were all exhausted!

Tessa and I did get a little bit of time with Greg in the morning before our busy day began. He is such a great father! I knew when we were dating that he would be a good dad because he is so filled with love, life, and adventure! He is the fun dad who is silly and goofy and so loving with Tessa! She adores him and so do I. I cannot wait for Harrison to meet his daddy! We are all blessed to have him in our lives! We love you Greg! Happy Father's Day!

Below are some pictures from lunch yesterday with Greg's family.

Potty Training 101

O.K. So, I have started to potty train Tessa and it is not going too well. Tessa's pediatrician advised me to wait until after the baby comes to start this new adventure. Tessa will be exactly 2 1/2 when Harrison gets here and she said this is a good age to start. As a mom, I am trying to envision having a newborn and trying to start potty training Tessa and it scares me to death. So I thought I would start before he gets here and hope for the best. Needless to say.........she does not like it one bit. She absolutely loves her "Big Girl" panties but refuses to use the potty at all! She has even figured out a way to lay tummy down on the carpet to pee in her "Big Girl" panties that way it will not run down her legs, and soak up in the carpet instead, allowing her to continue what she is doing. I have to say this has not been fun. Now we are in pull ups and sitting on the potty frequently throughout the day. I am starting to think my Dr. was right after all? Any advice out there from those of you that have been through this before would be greatly appreciated! Here are a few pictures from our new adventure. Yes, I know, Tessa will probably kill me for these pictures later!

Camden's 2nd Birthday Party

Today we went to Tessa's friend Camden's 2ND Birthday party! All of the kids had so much fun! We were outside again playing in the water! We had a great time! Tessa especially loved the really big slide and the tractor. My friend Joyell's son Darnell took Tessa down the big slide and she loved it!
