First Day Out

Today I decided it was time for me to venture out of the house and run a few errands. I haven't been anywhere except to the grocery store and pharmacy for over three weeks and have been going stir crazy at the house all day. I had both of the kids and I was really excited to see how this went! Of course I had to go back inside the house a couple of times before we left but I think I did pretty good! Harrison screamed most of the time in the car while Tessa ignored him and sang and watched the Backyardigans. We got gas, went to the bank, to Babies R Us, and then to mom's house for lunch. Harrison fell asleep in Babies R Us so he slept through the bank and on the way to mom's. Tessa obeyed really well today also...unusual for her in a store with toys! All in all I think our first time out went great! Here is a picture of Harrison when we got home. He fell asleep and looked so sweet!

Harrison's First Bath

We finally got to give Harrison his first bath in the newborn bathtub! He did so good! Tessa hated her first bath and still does not like them now. Harrison on the other hand loved it! At first he made a few noises because he wasn't sure about it and then he just relaxed and sat back for me to bathe him! He just looked at me the whole time and did not even cry when he got out! He is such a good baby! God answered our prayers for a calm and relaxed little boy who sleeps! He has been sleeping five to six hours a night lately and we are in heaven! He doesn't even cry to eat...just grunts really loud until we wake up!

I am also posting a three week picture of him and some of Tessa in her new princess gown jammies. She loves gowns these days and was so excited to sleep in her new princess one last night! Grammy (Greg's mom) visited us last night and also brought us dinner. We have been so blessed with such good families and friends who have kept us fed for over two weeks! We love you guys! Thanks so much!

The last picture is of Harrison with stickers all over his head that Tessa put on him! My mom was supervising so no one was hurt! As mom said, this is just the beginning for him! Poor guy!

Harrison's 2 Week Update

Below are some pictures of Harrison's second week at home. As you can see, Tessa loves him and is getting used to him being around all of the time! I took him to his two week Dr. appointment this past Thursday and he did really well! He is back up to his birth weight, 8.1, and has grown 1 1/2 inches! He did not like the car ride there too much but I am hoping he grows out of that! We are all doing really well! I am recovering from the surgery alot faster this time than I did with Tessa and that is a blessing! Harrison is sleeping o.k. through the nights giving us at least three hour stretches most of the time. I will post more pictures later!

Harrison's First Week @ Home

Below are some pictures from Harrison's first week at home. He is doing great and changing everyday! See the post after this for our re-cap of Harrison's arrival!

Harrison's Arrival

Our little boy is nine days old! I cannot believe how fast the time goes! Last Friday came so fast! It was like it just rushed upon us and we were being led into the operating room. Everything went really well through the surgery and Harrison was absolutely perfect! There were no signs of heart trouble or a cleft lip. Praise God for a healthy baby! The rest of the recovery time was pretty eventful and I felt great but as I was being taken to my post partum room I realized that the anesthesia had made me very dizzy and nauseated. I had to lay flat on my back the rest of the night or I would start spinning. After throwing up numerous times (ouch!) and four medications in my IV later, they realized that they had to try a new medication that was a drip into my IV to reverse the spinal side effects. This did the trick and around midnight I started to feel more like myself!

Tessa did great with Harrison! She loved him immediately but she wasn't quite sure why her mommy was in a bed with all of these weird things in her arms!My mom took such great care of her and we didn't have to worry about her once! Thanks mom for being such an angel and taking care of Tessa! We love and appreciate you so much!

We have been home now since Monday afternoon and have started to settle in as a family of four! Greg and I are still trying to get used to juggling the two different children with different needs but I think we are doing a pretty good job! Harrison is such a good baby. Our first night home he slept for 5 1/2 hours! He averages about 3 to 4 hours at a time right now. He seems very calm and laid back...much different from our little princess! I remember this time with Tessa being so much harder than it is now. I think it is because this is our second time around and we have already done it once before!

Greg goes back to work tomorrow and I cannot tell you how much I will miss him! He has been so wonderful taking care of me and Tessa and Harrison! We will miss him terribly. Say a little prayer for us as he goes back to work and I am left to man down the fort while he is away! Mom is going to help me as much as she can and I am so grateful! Her life is consumed by children and grandchildren right now and I am so thankful for her willingness to help!

I am posting a few pictures below and I will post more later!

Baby Harrison Update

Tonight will be our last baby update because we are going to get to meet our son tomorrow! We are excited and a bit nervous but we cannot wait to see what Harrison looks like. We are as prepared as we can get and we are ready for whatever tomorrow may bring. Mom will have Tessa while we are at the hospital so please say a prayer for her while she takes care of our little girl. We will post some pictures as soon as we can! Thank you all in advance for your prayers for our family!

Harrison's Room

When deciding how to decorate our little boys room Greg made the ultimate decision to have his room done in trains. I asked my friend Regina to paint a wall mural in Harrison's room. We decided on a train with clouds and a bible verse that we all love! The bible verse is Proverbs 22:6. Regina also painted Tessa's room when we were getting it ready! She does an amazing job and I wanted to show off her skills!
