Tessa's Slumber Party

This Tuesday night Tessa went to her friend Bella's house for her first sleepover! Bella turned four years old and wanted her friend's to come stay at her house for her party!

When I got the invitation I was excited and scared for Tessa at the same time. My first thought is how fun for Tessa to go to her first slumber party! I loved slumber parties as a kid! Then I thought..oh no...I won't be there! I won't get to make sure she eats dinner, gets cleaned up, to put her jammies on, to tuck her in bed, to read her bedtime stories or sing songs and bedtime prayers. Too many things ran through my mind! Then I reminded myself that I need to hold my kids lightly because they are the Lord's not mine. He will make sure they are always taken care of with or without me!

I knew Cynthia (Bella's mom) would take wonderful care of Tessa! She treats Tessa like she is her own and I trust her completely! She is a wonderful friend and awesome mom! This gave me a peace that night. However, I still stayed up most of the night worrying myself and waiting for a phone call to come get her! It never came.

Cynthia called the next morning and told me how well Tessa did and how proud of her they were! She did not wine or ask for me at all...which made me a little sad too! I am so proud of the little lady she is becoming and even though it takes some effort on my part I have to let her grow into the beautiful woman God has planned for her to be. Why is it so hard???

Harrison's Fall

I did not plan to go rushing to the pediatrician's office first thing this morning but life always has its surprises! Harrison was crawling and pulling up on everything like normal and decides to pull up on our wood/glass front door to look outside. He has done this a thousand times before and been fine. I was sitting next to him in the foyer. Yes...I was right there and could not even stop it! He was pulling up and lost his grip so he fell face first down toward the ground and hits his forehead on the metal door hinge. I didn't see anything at first but when I turned him around I saw it...blood allover his forehead with this gash where the skin had split.I just panicked and immediately began to cry. Never have I ever had something like this happen before with Tessa so this was new for me! Greg and I decided to call the Dr office for advice and they say to bring him in immediately. I call mom to rush over here to stay with Tessa while I take Harrison in. They did have to use the Dermabond liquid stitches and he hated being held down. It was just plain pitiful but he and I both survived and he seems to be alright now.I know there will be many more things like this to come but it still isn't easy on child or the mommy!

10th Anniversary

It is hard to believe that ten years has already gone by since Greg and I were young 21 year olds who were so in love and ready to be together forever! Little did we know the hard road to come of going to college together, financially struggling, and fighting over the small stuff! Three years later and still in love but needing direction, by the grace of God, we found a wonderful church home and renewed our life and future in living for Him! Since then, our marriage has been so much more than I ever could have imagined it! I do not believe that any marriage can last or stay strong without the Holy Spirit guiding your way and the love of God controlling your hearts! Life can be difficult at times and we all struggle but Greg and I know our God loves us and we find peace in this.

Mom came over bright and early on Friday morning and we left for Memphis. Greg loves Elvis and we always wanted to go to Graceland. It was such a nice drive and we were able to talk, without interruptions, and spend some much needed quiet time together! Graceland was so much fun! Greg of course loved the Trophy building and the car museum but my favorite was the mansion! I just love old homes and the grounds were so beautiful! That night we stayed downtown and went to dinner at this wonderful steakhouse restaurant. We came back the next afternoon to see our babies! We loved our time together but we missed the kids so much! Here are some photos from our trip!

Gray's 6th Birthday Party

Friday night we went next door to our neighbor's for a birthday party. It was a pirate theme and they rented a mobile pirate ship for the party! The kids loved it and Tessa had a ball!

Checking In

It has been a very long time since I have updated my blog! Alot has happened lately in our family. We lost my dear father in law on June 10th. Harrison is named after him. This was a very sad time for us but as Christians we know we have the promise to see him again one day in heaven! We are still fighting the heaviness of it each day but we are getting through it. We had a family vacation in FL and we took Tessa to Disney! She did so good...Harrison stayed with his GiGi. It was just too hot for him! Greg and I have our 10 year wedding anniversary coming up on July 17th! I am so thankful to have the husband I do and to still be in love with him today even more so then when we married! I thank the Lord for this gift and I will treasure it the rest of my life! Here are some recent pics and I will post the FL ones later! I hope you are all doing great!

Greg and I went out to breakfast and then to the shooting range...it was his father's day surprise! The beeds were Tessa's finishing touch to my outfit!

Harrison is getting so big! He is pulling up on everything and crawling like a speed demon!

Fun times at the pool!

White Family Reunion 2009

We had a family reunion at mom's for my Grandpa White's side of the family...mom's dad. We had about 90 people and everyone had so much fun! The kids swam and played while the adults caught up and discussed old times. There were so many people there and I know mom was proud of herself for pulling it all off. This was her idea and she made it happen! It has been over 10 years since everyone has gotten together! Thanks mom for such a wonderful family event that we will all remember! Love you!

My Babies Are Getting So Big!!!

I have been considering cutting Tessa's hair short for some time now. It had gotten so long and was beginning to be a pain to deal with...washing, brushing, fixing, brushing again, and so on! I asked her for weeks if she wanted it to stay long or cut it and she kept telling me she wanted it cut like mine. So, after much debating we cut it off! She loves it and did so good for Aunt Angie! I think she looks like a doll and Greg says she looks like she is 5 instead of 3!

Harrison outgrew the weight limit on his infant carrier so we had to buy him a big boy car seat. This and the fact that my arm was breaking trying to carry him around in that thing! He loves his new seat too!

Even as I write this I wonder where the time has gone. It flies by and I want to take it all in so I never forget a moment of it! I love being with my kids everyday and I am so thankful and blessed to be able to do so! Thank you Lord!
